AUDIENCE APPEAL
Below are some micro elements that we believe are appealing to our audience.
01
We think that the locations that we used are rather appealing, as they both contrast from each other quite heavily. For example, the first location is rather dark, gloomy and mysterious, and we wanted to emphasise the shadows in the shot in order to further imply the darkness, giving hints and connotations to the character that we see writing the letter. The reason we chose this is because the mysterious setting can make the audience ask questions regarding the origin of the letter, for example where it came from, who did it etc. It may be able to give the audience hints to the answers of these questions.
Our second location was the shopping centre. We chose the shopping centre for the second part of the sequence because it is where we would introduce the main teenagers, and is a place that young people generically visit. This has strong relations to any 18-24 year olds within our target audience (18-35), putting them in the characters' perspective, further enhancing the concept of the genre as it creates suspension of disbelief. This location is much brighter and happy, giving hints to traits of the main female protagonists.

MISE-EN-SCENE
CINEMATOGRAPHY
Throughout the production, we began to carry out more professional camerawork. We attempted to use depth of field a lot more to give it a professional and cinematic outlook, and we moved the camera a lot more which aided with the transitions. We used a wide variety of shots and angles (such as close ups, over the shoulder shots, high angles etc.) that make the project more visually appealing. We also used more equipment (fig rig, lighting etc.) which could enhance how the shot turned out.
I believe the camerawork was very appealing as it has high quality and is visually complimenting, and was also praised after screening.

SOUND
I believe that our non-diegetic sound was very appealing to the audience. We used sounds such as music to match the theme, and things like ambient bass drones and risers. These were appealing as they matched the genre and the conventions. They constantly build up the tension of the sequence which was complimented, and also give off a really eerie feel to the whole production.
We used multiple layers of sound in order to emphasise the eerie feel and to suggest further context to the sequence. As the bass drone being to build with the risers, so does the music, both in pitch and volume, therefore adding much more to the tension of the piece.
