HOW WE REACHED OUR AUDIENCE

Having carried out research regarding our specific genre, we managed to pander to our target audience (18-35 year old females) by using some generic conventions commonly found in the genre of thriller, but also managing to challenge some. This reached our audience because they knew what to expect, but had a few aspects that were unique.

In order to further appeal to our target audience, we chose a location for the second pat of the scene that was relatable to the audience. As we also found out that our target audience will most likely live or work in the city, we chose a location that is familiar to people in the area, and is a place where they themselves might visit. This aided us in building more relatable characters for the production. As they are all from a similar demographic, this made it easier for the audience to relate to them, and therefore helped us build the story of the characters.

RELEASE TYPES

The cinematic premiere would be held at a local art-house cinema, known as 'Screen on the Green'. This would reach our audience as it is local and makes it more intimate and relatable. Regarding digital releases, we would release it on the online video program Vimeo. This way we can reach our target audience easily as it is an accessible. Furthermore, due to it being a frequently used program, it would also draw in a wider audience to watch the film. There would also be able to give the film a DVD release, which would also be able to reach our wider audience. They would be able to release a Digital DVD and a hard copy of it, in order to further interact with our audience, as some people prefer hard copies of films, and others prefer digital formats.

PROMOTION

We also promoted our film through social media, such as Twitter. this meant we could reach our audience as it is a viral form of media that is used by our target audience.
